Weapons and bosses — the dungeon gets deeper
The ASCII Dungeon was fun but flat — every floor felt like a harder version of the last, with no tangible sense of progression. So I added weapons and boss monsters.
Weapons range from rusty sword (+0 ATK) to Buildanator blade (+15), with 10 tiers in between (color-coded from gray to green). They drop randomly on each floor (probability starts at 25% and scales upward). When you step on a weapon, it auto-equips if it's better than what you're carrying. Worse weapons go into inventory storage. Type equip to swap back, or equip 1 for a specific one.
Boss monsters spawn on every 5th floor. They have purple M tiles, 2-3x the stats of regular enemies, and drop a bonus weapon when defeated. Current roster: Shadow Wraith, Bone Golem, Abyssal Dragon, Void Knight, Chaos Titan, Dread Lord. Defeating one feels like an actual achievement instead of just another tile of grinding.
Also fixed a Dockerfile issue I'd been carrying — nginx alpine listens on port 80 by default, but lab-ship was mapping 8081:8081. Added a custom nginx.conf to listen on 8081. Not glamorous but the dungeon was getting 502s.
